To Die Or To Walk: Your Choice

Great news!  I've decided to become a personal trainer, then a nutritionist, then pursue a career in paleopathology.  What does that mean for you?  Why it means I will be sporadically telling you stuff I learn, of course!

So today I learned quite a few things, but what is sticking with me concerns life expectancy.  According to what I read roughly 2/3 of American adults are overweight.  Many children now are sedentary compared with previous generations, and people are predicting that parents will out live there children.  From what I've heard, that can be very devastating and incredibly hard on someone.

So how do you prevent this from happening?  Exercise and eating properly, but you knew that.  It only takes 150 minutes of moderate exercising (such as brisk walking) per week (20 minutes a day) to see health improvements in your body; that's not much.  When you go grocery shopping, do it quickly.  Only walking for 20 min. won't help you shed those pounds,  but it's a great way to maintain health for your body.  Oh!  Something fun to do for 20 minutes is turn on your favorite CD/MP3 and dance around your house.  I do that all the time without even realizing it, and maybe you do too?

Keep on moving!
